Laser Resurfacing – what you need to know

One of the procedures we offer at Advanced Aesthetics that produces dramatic results is laser resurfacing. Laser Resurfacing directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin, precisely removing skin layer by layer. This procedure is done in the hospital under anaesthesia.

Laser resurfacing can completely rejuvenate skin, reducing or eliminating wrinkles around the eyes, lips, cheeks and forehead; getting rid of freckles, blemishes, uneven skin and liver spots; and dramatically improving sun-damaged and aged skin. Laser resurfacing can also correct acne pitting and chicken pox scars, benign raised lesions as well as scars and stretch marks.

While the results are fantastic, it is worth remembering that this is a significant treatment and you will experience discomfort for the first few days after the procedure (we can give you medication for the pain). You will need a couple of weeks to recover but after that time your skin will be significantly smoother, with a refreshed, rejuvenated, more youthful appearance. These improvements continue for up to six months after treatment.

If you think laser resurfacing might be the treatment for you, make sure you thoroughly research your chosen therapist and ensure they have the necessary training, qualifications and experience to achieve the results you want.
